Okay. So I'm confused with my college major.. and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do.
Currently I am an intended Magazine Journalism major and I'm already nearly finished with my concentration in French. I was thinking that I'd like to, as a magazine journalist, work as a reporter for a teen magazine like Seventeen. It's a well respected magazine for teenage girls that focuses on fashion and pop culture, but it also hits some hard issues like abusive relationships and eating disorders, showing different sides of the story. What draws me to this is the writing, as well as the opportunity to meet interesting people and celebrities.
Whatever I want to do.. I want to be able to work with musicians and other celebrities, where I actually work closely with them. But I'm wondering if magazine journalism is the best way to do that.. I've also considered doing film/television production.
I think that with a magazine journalism major.. I can do a lot of things.. I can blog. I can do PR, I can work for a magazine.. or I can even do the broadcast aspect of it. If I did broadcast.. I would want to do something like E!. Nothing TOO serious.
Can anyone think of some majors that have to do with working in Hollywood?
I mean.. I can always get my bachelors in Magazine Journalism, and then get my master's in something else..
