I have only been to austin once and never to louisianna, so I cant say I know the jewish scene at all. but are there any temples anywhere near where either of you live? though it might be impractical to actually go there to meet people, they might have something like a members list that you could access and see if there are any familes with anyone your age in them. since the jewish population seems to be so dispersed there could very well be people from all over who are members..... also, chabad emmisaries usually have large networks of contacts. try to contact a chabad house and see if they know anyone. it feels very contrived, but in your situation, you may have to work a bit harder than feels natural to find the people you are looking for.

it sucks that you have to feel so alone, but I am very glad that you found your way to the lockers where you can at least interact online.

make sure ur future college has it! its a jewish club, and i cant wait to join. u no wat i think... maybe the lockers should hav a facebook group.. would that be too personal?
