Im 17 and im from South Africa.
Peer pressure in schools in South africa is really really bad. I started drinking and smoking at a very very young age because i was influenced into do these things however now i still drink and smoke a lot but the influence aspect has disappeared. Iv tried to stop so many times but i just love to smoke and drink. Its not really an addiction, its more of an habit.
I don"t know how to stop the thought of always wanting to drink or smoke

Well where does your desire to stop smoking and drinking stem from?
Is someone pressuring you to stoppp?

Everything is a kickable habit. If you're hanging with people who do drugs etc., try associating with other people who don't, and their example may rub off on you.

something important about your problem is that it is so common. so common that there are programs to help people get unhooked. maybe try them out. also, it may be a good idea to find another hobby to occupy your time and attention. good luck!

This doess tend to help with some people, not being around drug-use definitely will be more helpful with getting it off your mind

idk if they show those scary commercials in South Africa, but you can probably find them online, of people who have to go through heart surgery because of smoking, and it has all these graphic images...*shudders* So you can always use that kinda fear aspect as an influence to stop.
If you daven, have real kavana in the refuah bracha in Shemoneh Esrei and things will def work out.

Know how it feels (incredibly depressing, least when you fail continuously), have the same issues with Masturbation. Course, if you could take a look at your lungs once your 30 you'd have more incentive than me.
