So I haven't been doing so great in a few subjects, and I neglected to tell my mother. (Yes. I am an idiot. Please don't rub it in.) I just told her the good grades so she wouldn't get suspicious.
Problem is that we get progress reports, which don't have grades on them but have teacher comments, and I'm kinda nervous for my mom to see what they say (although they give them to us in school and she doesn't know that they're giving them out so I can theoretically not show her), but PTA is on Monday...yeah.
How do I break it to her?

Carefully. Haha.
I mean.. no one is perfect. You can't get all As in everything, and it says something that you're getting SOME good grades. You're obviously not dumb, you're just having trouble in some subjects. It happens. I had to killlll myself in high school for a B in math. It didn't just come to me like some people.
I would take a look at them first. If they don't have grades, just teacher comments, then you should be fine. The comments might just say something like "Writer is struggling right now with a, b and c, but she is a wonderful student who tries very hard and has a great head on her shoulders."
Unless that's not true and you're actually a terrible slacker who makes bad decisions.. but I doubt that is true. =]

Just like explain that it's stressing you out that you have been trying your best, ask her what you should do for extra help to get caught up etc. She should admire you taking the responsibility of bettering yourself....Is there any way you can get the grades up before the progress reports come out or maybe even ask for extra credit?

Thanks...I'll probably try something like that, I doubt she'll get too angry at me since she knows how stressed I am...hopefully?...
