What I really don't understand.

I know that everyone knows it, and writes letters to the editor , etc. but for real: why dont the politicians/big people do ANYTHING about it. just listen to this:

heres the crazy thing- I, a lowly teenager, can see this plainly but reading the headlines: every couples days/weeks we hear in the USa about another terror attack/ambush of some sort. keep in mind we only get the big things here, not your daily bomb scare. many innocent people die, babies, kids, religious, israeli arabs, chilonim, whole families, heroes in the IDF. theres the usual "we condemn this act of terror in the strongest possible terms...bla bla...we urge the PA to "crack down" on "militants" and Hamas is a big obstacle to peace...but we still beleive in our glorified "Road Map" to peace, and will not let this sideline us.
-our very own Bush.

and then theres the occasional condemnation from our buddy arafat through his wheezy voice from the inside of his crumbling compound in ramallah: "we, the PA condemn this act of violence against innocence." Im sorry, but these words are crap. im not comparing arafat to bush, but neither of them do anything about it!!!! arafta of course not, hes in with the terrorists, but still manages to have so many spporters- the EU, UN, and of course every Araba country. basically the whole world excluding america.

but bush still is advocating equality between the israeli "raids" and palestinian homicide bombings. oh, and there is never a peep out of the UN after a terror atack, but after the israelis bomb a terrorist camp, or kill terorrists who are responsible for the deaths of scores of innocents, the UN is all over the "offensive and aggressive" israelis for their lack of human rights, restraint, etc. and then theres the double standard of bush- the number of innocent iraqis killed because of him is in the thousands, and besides thast - every day more US soldiers are dying. and for what? ok, so saddam was done for. good! he should be killed. but do we have him? nooo, do we have osama? nooo....but do we urge the israelis to show restraint? YES! why? b/c bush needs power! screw your politcal, democratic, beaurocratic crap , and do your thing and let every other country do its thing. and sharon - well he should do whatever is necessary to keep israelis alive. if these "targeted assasination" arent working, arik, then try somethign else!! worry about bush later, maybe hell have seen the light after you act. otherwise, nothings going to change. pbviously nobodys learned from the holocaust.

and now my hand hurts. but what i dont understand is why the high ppl like bush, powell, rice,, dont at least ackknowledge the double standard and all of this hypocrisy.

I'm not a self-hating Jew who is anti-Israel or anything, but lets be real here. Why should they care? They, American politicians, have to make it seem like they're doing something (condemn) because the high Jewish population in America would be angry if they didn't do something. But at the same time there is a higher Muslim and Arab population here too. Once an American politician goes pro-Israel, he's lost the backing of all the Arabs and Muslims here. Plus the politicians need to keep a balance, remember, we get our oil from Arabia, plus now we need allies in this War on Terror (yes, kind of weird how the Palestinians aren't involved). No matter how much the Arabians hate the Palestinians, if Bush were to overly criticize the Palestinians or be overly pro-Israel, the Saud's would let Bush hear about it. In politics you have to keep everybody happy. We all have to remember that we Jews are 1% of the worlds population. Who should really care about us? The Muslim world is around 20% of the worlds population. You can't just go and piss off 20% of the world, who a good amount already hate you, just because 1% of these Jews are being persecuted. You've gotta remember that American politicians, other than the Jewish ones (who are a good amount too), probably really don't care, just they need to seem like they do to keep everybody happy. Those are just my 2 cents.

POLITICS SUCK!!! I dont think this war will be one unless Israel stops submitting to the world's bureaucratic crap and does its own thing. America, on the other hand, is being led by inept idiots (did someone say, George dubya) who are throwing this country away for some "higher goal." It's all a load of crap, but thats the hand we've been dealt.

the problem is that since the world is against israel as a whole we cannot do what is needed to do. IT IS A WAR. IN A WAR YOU KILL PEOPLE. If they want to attack without and army and use CIVILIANS who we call TERRORISTS we may as well kill every single CIVILIAN.....yes i said it and would be quoted on it......

Oil is the motivation for the duplicity in the actions of the Americans (and every other nation, but america especially). Iraq was all about Bush pride and oil (weapons of mass destruction, anyone??), and the reason he needed to convince the nations to join him was so he wouldnt lose oil from the arabs. We gotta get off oil, or get it from somewhere else. Until then the arabs essentially control the world.

They do hate us but not only is bush making people more aware of the war but if he says ther obvious, that the arabs are A** holes and will never compramise then the world will be on his back for not doing anything. But what you said was true, we really are alone no matter how hard we assimilate. I don't want to assimilate.

i dont know if you guys have realized htis, but one of our best supporters is the fundamentalist christians. ok so they believe that the only way for (their) mashiach to come is for the jews to have complete control of jerusalem. y do u think they ahve been paying ppl to make aliyah? paying their way and paying their debts off back here(if they have any)? wtvr just food for thought......

yea, but they want us all to die or convert. They're friends, but only as long as we serve their purpose. I dont have much faith in them for the long-term, and its important to remember that the community is the only thing we have going for us
